There are various methods that can be deployed:-

1. PAY & DISPLAY

This is a revenue generation & collection system which is widely used in the UK.
Users enjoy unrestricted vehicle access to the car parking facility, this is an ideal solution if the road access infrastructure is limited or the car park is relatively small.
Protech Systems pay & display machines produce excellent audit facilities which can provide useful statistical data that can be used strategically.

2. TICKET & BARRIER –PAY AT EXIT

A commonly used method of revenue generation & access control. A ticket is dispensed to the vehicle driver, (either automatically or push button issue), the entrance barrier raises and allows access to the car park. Information is recoded on the ticket, time, date, conditions of entry and advertising.
The ticket is offered to an operator from the customer’s vehicle and a charge is levied. When the transaction is complete the exit barrier is raised and the vehicle can leave the car park.

3. PAY ON FOOT

Operating systems fall into two basic ‘machine reading’ methods:-
-Bar coded tickets
-Magnetic stripe tickets

 These systems offer two main advantages over other types of systems.

• Excellent audit trail and statistical reporting capabilities
• The best method of increasing the speed of exit for customers thereby increasing income efficiency.
• The faster the throughput the better service to customers

4. PAY ON ENTRY/ EXIT

Pay on entry is used when managing either temporary parking or for long stay commuter parking. This method is not usually suitable for large car parks as the speed of entry will have an impact on the surrounding highways.
